During my life, I have had many personal and professional trials and tribulations that have led me to understand and relate to other people’s feelings and experiences in a unique way. My path into psychotherapy started as a child when I used art as an escape from pain and stress, and would spend hours creating a new reality to feel safer in.
In 2013, I received a double master’s degree from NDNU in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy. I am now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have had a variety of experience including group, individual, and family therapy with various populations and facilities, including Juvenile Justice, psychiatric and medical in-patient and emergency services, as well as residential treatment settings. I have also had the privilege to be a clinical supervisor to PhD, PsyD, and MFT students and interns, and have been in private practice for the last 8 years. I am grateful for the trials and tribulations that I have experienced, as they have deepened my understanding of the human psyche and allowed me to choose modalities that I trust will effective.
I strive to continuing growing as a healer and a person and continue to create a safe and nurturing space for my clients. Aside from being a therapist, I love nature, beach walks, art (obviously!) and music. I love cooking and baking and am always up for a good movie!
Having a good fit with your therapist is critical for effective psychotherapy.
During the free 20-minute consult, think about issues you'd like to work on and share any concerns you may have. Once you identify what you want to work on, I will collaborate with you to create a case conceptualization to determine appropriate modalities that will give you effective emotional healing. This is your opportunity to interview me to see if my approach and personality are going to work for you.
Take the first step into your healing journey and send me a message or give me a call!
